Atanu Chakraborty now the Chairman of Yubi: Atanu Chakraborty has been appointed as the Independent Chairman of the Yubi board, as told by the company itself.. In addition, Atanu Chakraborty serves as HDFC Bank’s board chairman at the moment.

Atanu Chakraborty served as the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Finance and a member of the Central Board of Directors of the Reserve Bank of India, according to a press release from the Chennai-based debt marketplace.

 

As independent experts on racism and associated intolerance, the United Nations Human Rights Council chose the first Asian and the first Indian. Dr. Ashwini`s appointment was formally made at the UNHRC meeting, which ended on October 7 in Geneva.

 

Three names, including that of Ashwini, were doing rounds for the post. Dr Ashwini will take over the UNHCR special rapporteur in Geneva on November 1 for a period of six years. She is the first Asian as well as the first Indian to be appointed for the post.

 

The UNHRC president then nominated her to the Council, which officially appointed her just before the conclusion of its 51st session. Ashwini’s three-year term will begin on November 1.

 

Ashwini will be the sixth SR to hold this mandate. All her predecessors have been from Africa.
